The postgraduate program "Comparative Literature in the Black Sea Region" of the Department of Languages, Literature and Culture of the Black Sea Countries is part of the strategic planning of Democritus University of Thrace, is governed by scientific coherence and aims at the further development of philological education and scientific research. More specifically, the postgraduate program aims at the comparative, which is mainly supranational, study of the literature produced in the Black Sea Region, the strengthening of regional languages, such as those spoken in the Black Sea Region, the acquaintance with the peoples of this region and the development of good relations of mutual understanding and tolerance, the promotion of scientific knowledge and research, the training and specialization of young researchers in the scientific field of comparative literature with emphasis on the Black Sea Region, as well as the strengthening and dissemination of comparative literature studies in Greece and abroad.
